There are a lot of businesses and organizations accepting donations to help people living in Ukraine but here are some local ones that are raising funds.
Matelna Bakes
Matelna Bakes is based out of Aspen Hill and serves up delicious cinnamon rolls. They are participating in Bake for Ukraine, a fundraiser for Sunflower of Peace which is putting together funds for first aid backpacks for frontline paramedics and doctors. Dacha DC
Dacha DC, which has beer gardens in both Shaw and Navy Yard, is raising funds for several organizations that are providing humanitarian relief to Ukraine including UNICEF.
United Help Ukraine
United Help Ukraine is a local non-profit, based in Gaithersburg, that is collecting donations to supply food and medical supplies to internally displaced peoples in Ukraine.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington has set up an emergency fund for donations so they can provide on the ground relief in Ukraine.
World Central Kitchen
Local celebrity chef José Andrés started World Central Kitchen in 2010 and has provided fresh meals all over the world. They are currently in Poland helping to feed refugees from Ukraine. You can donate by visiting their website.
Raw Blossom
Raw Blossom is based in Frederick County and sells artisan soaps, candles, and various personal care products like cleansers, bar shampoo, and shaving cream. 100% of proceeds from their online orders will be donated to organizations working in Ukraine.
City Sweets & Treats
On Thursday, March 3rd, from 5-7pm in the Sligo Branview neighborhood of Silver Spring, City Sweets & Treats will be holding a bake sale to raise funds as part of the Bakers for Ukraine movement. You can find the address on their Instagram post.
